Hartford is one of five unincorporated villages in the town of Hartford, Windsor County, Vermont, United States. It also referred to as Hartford Village. Hartford village was first established in the late 18th century, when it was called White River Village. In its early years, it was the town's principal community center, but it was later supplanted in that role by White River Junction, which is approximately one mile east of Hartford village. In the 19th century Hartford village was the site of several industries, including a grain mill, a chair factory, and a woolen mill.〔
